

John Leonard Peacock was born on May 7, 1957 in Davenport, Iowa to John Robert and Linda Peacock. He grew up in the South in Fort Payne and Muscle Shoals, Alabama and Memphis, Tennessee where he lived down the street from Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley. He and his friends were welcome at Graceland and played many football games on the estate lawn. Elvis occasionally joined them. John’s most memorable birthday was the year he turned ten. Elvis came to his birthday party and presented him with a skateboard. John was a Boy Scout for many years rising to the top rank of Eagle Scout for which he received a congratulatory letter from the 37th President of the United States, Richard Nixon.
John attended the University of Alabama and received his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. Shortly thereafter he relocated to the Bay Area and began his professional career at Raychem guided by his mentor and close friend, Bob Naidoff. John continued his studies at De Anza College specializing in Quality Engineering. He proceeded to excel in his profession rising to the position of Vice President of Quality at Invision Technologies, the premier manufacturer of baggage scanning equipment installed in airports worldwide.
John enjoyed football and was a lifelong fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and the San Francisco 49ers. He was an avid golfer and spent many hours on the links with his golfing buddies. He also enjoyed rock music and had many classic albums in his collection.
John is survived by his two sons, John Daniel Peacock and Andrew Peacock. He will be missed by family and friends.
