Josefina Bernal DeGuzman, age 78, graciously answered the Lord’s call, finally ending her battle with a chronic medical condition on Sunday, October 28, 2018. Born on June 17, 1940 to Hipolito R. DeGuzman and Margarita P. Bernal, she was the second youngest child of five, of which were two older brothers, an older sister, and a younger brother. After her mother passed away from a serious bacterial infection, her father remarried and she became an older sister to five additional brothers.
She led a life dedicated to her faith, her family, and her friends. Having emigrated from San Carlos, Pangasinan, in the Philippines in 1985, she settled in Milpitas, California where she enjoyed working in the medical field, playing bingo, going to casinos to gamble, and traveling the world with dear friends.
As an active parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, she grew in faith and made enriching friendships. Her calm smile, reserved demeanor, generosity, and graciousness will forever be missed.
