Most of you, if not all of you, know, I grew up the youngest of five children with four brothers.  No sister or sisters that I can confide my feelings growing up. Sisterhood is something I’ve always been intrigued by.  I have watched others with their sisters and felt envious of their relationship.  I have no sister I can compare the ins and outs of the relationship with but I do have cousins who are sisters to me than a cousin and one of them is Ate Pina.  
It is inspiring to know that I have a safe space with Ate Pina.  I loved and appreciated all my time and making memories with her.  One memory in particular is when I visited the Philippines in 1976.  She came with me to Pampanga to meet my ex-in-laws.  We never told anyone that she spoke their language so I knew everything my ex-in laws said about me behind my back.  Thank goodness, it was all pleasant.  
Another memory comes to mind, a week or two after she arrived from the Philippines, she visited me in Sacramento and we talked and talked until 4am in the morning.   At 9am, we decided to go to the Flea market, came home late afternoon and we talked some more about everything until late that night.  We really had a great time and I enjoyed every minute I spent with her but it was mom’s passing in 2002 that brought us much closer.  
Through the years, we didn’t see each other that much but every time we did, it was memorable.  We didn’t live near each other but every time I came up north, I made sure that I have her in my schedule to pay her a visit.  We would catch up about family and when I found out that she loved to play mahjong, my trip always included playing mahjong with her and Kuya Frank.  We played for hours even though it was just the three of us playing 25-50 cents a game.  It was always fun and it brought joy to my heart seeing her enjoying every minute of it.  
I love you Ate Pina and you will be missed.  May you rest in peace.

Ate Fina is pretty & very good ballroom dancer. She loves dancing with your Dad. She is always happy. The last time I saw her, was in Sunnyvale when we had our Roy's mini reunion at Kuya  Romy's house, in the year 2014. She asked me, how am I doing. I told her I have a pain in my right shoulder. She advised me to exercise every morning by facing the wall and crawling my right arm up and down against the wall for 20 times which I did, and it worked. Thank you Ate Fina, you Rest in Peace and God Bless your soul.
