She was preceded in death by her husband George in May of 1964. She was the daughter of Roscoe Donley and Maude Donley. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Millard Beckner and a sister Betty Rathbun.
She leaves behind to celebrate her life 5 daughters, Sandy, Kathy, Michelle, Nancy, and Tracy; 2 sons Tony and Mark. There are 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many good friends.
She will be greatly missed by all. She enjoyed bowling on leagues until she was ninety, and played bingo as long as she was able. There were also those occasional trips to the Casino!
She was a waitress by occupation, working originally in Hayward at Hunt’s Creamery, which became Harold Haycocks, also doing catering for him. Her husband George was tragically killed in plane crash in 1964. Shortly after that she opened her own business in Hayward called Baldwin’s Burgers which she operated for approximately 7 years. She continued to work in catering etc. She was a very dedicated employee, and remained very frugal all of her life, with her main objective always to provide for her family.
She especially loved the family gatherings, such as the large birthday parties, barbeques and special meals delivered by family and friends.
The family is very appreciative of care she received at Kaiser Hospital and that her passing was made as comfortable as possible. Her greatest wish was to remain in her home, which was also made possible with the aid of her family members for many years, and for the last year her caregiver, Mele, who also became her friend and companion.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sister John Marie’s Pantry, PO Box 3276 Fremont, CA 94539.
Arrangements under the direction of Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary, Fremont, CA.
