Lucy Gutierrez Calara, age 86, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2020. She was born on January 17, 1934 in El Paso, Texas to parents Consuelo Fuentes Gutierrez and Ignacio Gutierrez. Lucy was raised with 3 siblings. She had one brother, Julio and two sisters, Theresa and Herlinda. She is survived by her children, Stella, Freddy, Yolanda, Pete, Lucy, Anna, and the late Leticia. She also has 7 Step children that she was blessed with when she married the late Roberto (Bobby) Calara. Lucy and Bobby were married on March 15, 1980 and spent 31 wonderful years together. She loved traveling with her husband and they went on many cruises together. Lucy loved spending time in Reno with Bobby and enjoyed playing on the slot machines. She loved dancing to her Mexican music while drinking wine and enjoying her time with family. On a regular basis she and Bobby would walk around The Great Mall and would stop at the food court for (her favorite) McDonald’s. Shopping was one of her favorite things to do especially going to Macy’s. She was a beautiful woman and always made sure was dressed nice and her makeup was always perfect. But the thing she loved the most was spending time with all her grandkids. She is now resting in peace with her husband and her daughter and even though we will all miss her, we know she is in a better place.
