

She was born on October 10, 1934, in Tanza, Cavite, Philippines. Luisa was the fourth child of 8 children of Arsenio Nazareno Dator and Ana Montano Manilla. She grew up in her hometown Amaya, where she graduated from Cavite High School in 1953. She pursued higher education, and in 1958 she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Far Eastern University in Manila. In 1963, she began her career as a teacher at Tanza High School in Cavite. There she became the head advisor of the Filipino Department until she and her family migrated to California in March 1983.
She is known as Lucy within her family and friends. She found joy in gardening, playing piano, reading reflective and mystery books, solving word games, and cooking her signature Filipino desserts, “pichi-pichi” and “puto bumbong”. She will always be remembered for her generous heart and kind spirit.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Mario Del Rosario Sr. She is survived by her beloved son, Mario Jr. and wife Rowena, and their children, Angelo, Gabby and Sammi, as well as her beloved daughter, Maria Luisa and her children, George and Keila, along with many nephews and nieces, and extended family, and friends who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held by the family to honor her life and legacy. Visitation is from 2pm-7pm on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Funeral service is from 1pm-7pm on Sunday, July 6, 2025 with a funeral mass at 2pm.
