

Born on April 9th 1927 in Hung Yen province, North of Vietnam. Mr. Do was raised and lived with parents and siblings till relocating to Saigon in 1954. Do graduated from Thu Duc Army Academy (Class II). Later, Do joined the Army Combat Engineering and was sent to France and United States for training courses as required. After his completion there, Do returned back to Saigon and served the army. On December 22th 1962, Do married to Kim Lien Nguyen. Do and Nguyen settled and started their family in Saigon. He rose to the rank of lieutenant colonel of the Army Combat Engineering. After the fall of Saigon in 1975, Do was sent to prison for almost five years. He escaped with his son, Hung Do, to Thailand during the boat people exodus leaving behind wife and three young daughters in Vietnam. His oldest daughter, Dung Anh Do, escaped and settled in Paris with his brother's family. He settled in the United States in 1980.
He worked multiple jobs to support his family. Until 1989, he was able to reunite with the rest of the family. He worked as a Teacher Aid at Lincoln High school, San Jose during the day and worked as manufacturing assembler at night until retirement. The family still stays in the Berryessa area till present. Do survived by his wife, five children, and seven grandchildren.
