Marilyn Barcelona Leonador passed at the age of 65 on September 4, 2025 in her home in Ripon, California surrounded by her family. Her loved ones called her “Baby” and she brought smiles and laughter wherever she went. She was the wife of Ruben; the mother of Marben, Austin, and Marielle; and the sister of Cynthia, Jessie, and Rowel.
Born on May 4, 1960 as the daughter of Jesus and Adoracion Barcelona, she grew up in the Philippines as a dedicated member of Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ) and immigrated to the U.S in 1990. After establishing her new life in America, she married Ruben and started a family of three children. She worked at Bank of America for several years while dedicating much of her time and effort to the activities of her faith.
Her most remarkable trait was her selflessness; she always put everyone’s needs before her own and never asked for anything in return. Nowhere was this more apparent than the love and care she gave to her youngest child, Marielle. She retired early to become a full-time caregiver for her only daughter and was the bedrock of her family. When she wasn’t caring for her daughter, she was cooking, cleaning, entertaining guests, and watching over her two sons. She was very generous, too, and loved to give gifts to whomever she met: family, friends, neighbors, and schoolteachers. She dedicated her entire life to her family and in spite of the challenges she encountered, she never failed to show to everyone her love.
She will be remembered by everyone around her for being a loving and caring human being who gave everything she had for her loved ones.
