

Mary Bernadette Federighi, age 70 of Milpitas, CA, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 8th, 2016. She was born to the late David Federighi and Catherine Fitzpatrick Federighi on February 7, 1946 in Chicago, IL. Mary was preceded in death by her two sisters, Margaret Dwyer and Joanne Powell, and her brother, Thomas Federighi.
Mary attended grade school at St Agnes and graduated from Providence High School, class of 1964, in Chicago before moving to Milpitas where she lived the majority of her life. She attended San Jose Junior College before beginning work in the computer electronics industry where she excelled for over thirty years as a purchasing agent for Cushman Electronics and Fujitsu Electronics.
In her later years, she was an active member in the community of Milpitas and served many years as a lunch supervisor and lunch cashier at Anthony Spangler Elementary School where she enjoyed interacting with “her” kids on a daily basis.
Family and friends were Mary’s passion and delight. She loved to travel and visited many countries including Australia, England, Ireland, Spain, and Italy. Mary loved camping and enjoyed many quality vacations with family and friends at New Hogan Reservoir and Lake Don Pedro. She enjoyed hosting family dinners where she was known for her spicy and hearty chili. She was an avid reader and relished immersing herself in her spy/mystery novels, playing scrabble, and gardening in her backyard oasis.
Mary is survived by her brothers, David Federighi (Geraldine) of Shawnee, OK and Robert Federighi (Carol) of Livermore, CA. She was deeply loved by her many nieces and nephews, numerous relatives, and wonderful friends. All who knew her loved her and she will never be forgotten.
A memorial service is planned from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary, 48800 Warm Springs Blvd., Fremont, CA with a Celebration of Life luncheon immediately following the service. The burial and interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Chicago, IL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions/donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at 39235 Liberty Street, Fremont, CA or to the Milpitas Unified School District where Mary was a valued employee for many years.
