

Michael Anthony Hopkins was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Michael will be remembered as a very kind and gentle person.
Michael was born on April 13, 1993 at Kaiser, Santa Clara in Santa Clara, California. He was the son of Jennifer Fischenich and Steve Hopkins. Michael grew up in Milpitas.
Michael was the second eldest of 5. He had one older sister, Nicole and three younger brothers, Jonah and Julius and Zepheniah. Michael was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young boy, Michael had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. Michael was an active child who took part in basketball and football. Michael also participated in Boy Scouts. In his spare time he liked to swim, draw and play video games. Michael's memorable achievements included awards for attendance and honor roll. However, to Michael, the most fun to be had was simply playing one his computer and spending time with his family and friends.
Michael wasn't a typical teenager, but he had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. He graduated from Milpitas High School in 2011. He enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. His favorite class in high school was art. Michael enjoyed all of his wonderful high school teachers. Even though Michael had learning disabilities, he was able to make honor roll and graduate on schedule.
Always considered a “good” friend to those he knew, Michael enjoyed a small group of acquaintances and several very close friends during his lifetime. While growing up, Michael made good friends with his classmates Charles and CJ. Charles and CJ remained Michael's closest friends.
Michael enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were drawing, video games and being on his computer. He was content to enjoy his favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share his interests with others.
Michael found pleasure in sports. Michael was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Michael followed the A's, Giants, and Warriors with his family.
Michael enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacation was Disneyland with his Dad and Aunt Angelia.
Michael was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. One of his favorites was Jasmine, was Michael's favorite dog. They were best friends for 9 years. His remaining fur family was rounded out by his other dog, Elsa and three cats, Sammy, Oliver, and Coffee Bean.
Michael passed away on December 17, 2015 at Home. Michael passed peacefully of natural causes in his sleep. He is survived by his parents Jennifer Fischenich and Steve Hopkins; his Stepmoms Amanda Beaver and Sonia Hopkins; his sister Nicole Hopkins and his brothers Jonah Heonis and Julius Hunter and Zephaniah Hopkins. Services were held at Lima Family Mortuary in Fremont, California.
Simply stated, Michael was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Michael leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Michael Anthony Hopkins.
