Mimi Vibat Cabigas passed away quietly from natural causes at the age of 96 years old at her home on May 1, 2026. Mimi was born to Salustiano Vibat and Cecilia Villamil on December 20, 1929 in Tayug, Pangasinan, Philippines.
Mimi and Juan Cabigas ( her husband who is deceased) raised 4 children: Lelila Cabigas Durnford, Federico Vibat Cabigas, Perlina Cabigas Breneman and John Vibat Cabigas. Mimi and her 4 children moved to the United States in October, 1968.
Mimi enjoyed 57 years living in her first and only home in San Jose, California. That home was filled with love, warmth and hospitality. She has 9 Grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren that she loved so dearly.
She worked as an electronic assembler and retired when her first grandchild was born. She enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing, and cooking delicious Filipino meals and babysitting her grandkids. She was dearly loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she is deeply missed by all of them.
A funeral service is being held at Lima Family Mortuary and burial at Cedar Lawn Cemetery both located at 48800 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont, CA 94539.
