Nestor Juan Remo Luna Sr. entered into peaceful rest on September 16, 2023, at the age of 81.
He was born in San Jose, Batangas, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Mapua Institute of Technology, Philippines. He moved to Hawaii to follow his love, Maternidad (aka Nida or Matring), after she moved there in 1966. In addition to a successful career as a Mechanical Engineer here in the Silicon Valley, Nestor was a serial entrepreneur who ran multiple businesses in financial products, real estate and automotive service/repair.
Nestor was very socially active, especially in the Filipino American Association of Milpitas, Inc., where he was President for the years 1990 – 1992 and 2006-2008. He held the positions of Silicon Valley Art Commissioner in 2001 and Community Advisory Commissioner for Santa Clara between 2003 – 2008.
