Patrick Sabin, a devoted family man, proud Navy veteran, and adventurous soul who passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on March 22, 1940, from Douglas, Arizona, Patrick lived a vibrant life defined by hard work, deep loyalty, and an enduring passion for discovery.
Patrick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rachel Sabin. As a widower, he carried her memory with grace, finding strength in the beautiful family they built together. In his later chapters, he was blessed to share his life and adventures with his loving partner, Elvira Jordan.
A gentle guide and steady anchor, Patrick was a deeply devoted father to his daughter, Anita Munoz, and his son, Rudolfo Sabin. His legacy of love extended through generations as a proud grandfather to Cecilia Muñoz, JoAnn Muñoz-Escobedo, Consuelo Muñoz, and Rachel Hernandez, and a doting great-grandfather to 11 great-grandchildren. Patrick’s heart and home were always wide open; he loved his family fiercely and treasured his special bond with his hosted son, Shusaku Otamaru, who he was able to see in one more time in June 2025.
Patrick honorably served his country in the United States Navy. Following his military service, he built a distinguished, lifelong career with the Ford Motor Company. He began on the assembly line in Milpitas, California, specializing in the precision craft of painting vehicles. His commitment later took him to Kansas City, Missouri on transfer, before he ultimately returned to his roots in Northern California, finishing his career at the Ford Parts Depot in Richmond, California.
Retirement marked the beginning of a joyful new era with the first point of business in shaving his long overgrown beard that started out on a wager amongst friends. Settling back in Northern California, Patrick refused to slow down enjoying family, friends and travel with Rachel and later with Elvira, where he continued to embrace the world with open arms, traveling the globe, seeking out new experiences, and collecting memories.
Patrick lived fully, loved deeply, and reminded everyone around him that life is a grand adventure. He will be profoundly missed but forever celebrated.
