December 5, 1954July 21, 2020

Perlito Acidera Mingming, 65 years of age, passed peacefully on Tuesday July 21, 2020. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family during the last days of his life.

Perlito was born on December 5, 1954 in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to the late Daniel and Cornelia Mingming. He was the youngest of seven children, Guillermo Acidera Mingming (Deceased), Amparo Mingming Gamboa, Pacita Mingming Benavidez, Faustino Acidera Mingming (Deceased), Romulo Acidera Mingming, and Ardelina Mingming Ramelb.

In August of 1982, Perlito moved to Waialua, Oahu, Hawaii and shortly after, married his wife, Asuncion, on November 6, 1982. In 1984, they decided to move to San Jose, California where they started their new life together and raised 3 children.

Perlito worked as a FAB Specialist Technician at Intel Corporation from 1984-1992. Following this, he decided to pursue his dream of owning his own business, opening Car Fix Auto Body Shop and also taking part in a franchise – Jani-King Janitorial Services. Other employments through his life include IBM Corporation (1993-1994), Integrated Device Technology (1994-1997), and Vishay Siliconix (1997-2014).

In 2014, at the age of 59, he leaned into early retirement as his main goal was to spend more time with his friends and family. Perlito was the life of the party, always laughing and wearing a smile on his face. He was a loving and caring person, devoted husband, father, and friend – always thinking of others first and always willing to share his wisdom. Perlito had the ability to turn every bad situation into something great and had so much humor to last a lifetime.

In September of 2016, he was diagnosed with parotid gland cancer. The tumor was operated on, and treatment with chemo and radiation shortly followed. With God’s will and grace Perlito was in remission for 3 years.

In April of 2019, his cancer reappeared and metastasized to his lungs. Perlito was a fighter, but the aggressiveness of his cancer took over and his health started to decline.

During this time, Perlito became a strong believer in his faith and put his trust in God. His final months was dedicated to spending most of his time with his family, whom he loved and cherished. He was blessed to be able to see all of his children succeed, in turn, providing him with the opportunity to meet his 3 grandchildren, who he constantly called “his angels.” Together, and individually, they gave him more life and love than anyone could ever imagine.

Today, Perlito is survived by his Wife, Asuncion, his son, John (Michelle) Mingming, and his two daughters, Danielle (Mark) Cantillas and Janelle (Jerremy) Ferrer as well as his 3 angels on earth, Mason Mingming, Carsen Cantillas, & Jaelix Ferrer.

Perlito was loved and will be deeply missed, honored, remembered, and cherished by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
