On October 3, 2026 Relecita "Ring" Andres Proctor went home to be with the Lord at the age of 74. After a 5 month battle with cancer, she is able to be at peace. She is survived by her husband, Steve, and daughters, Ligaya and Kristina.
Ring was born in Sinaoangan Norte, San Agustin, Isabella, Philippines to Buenavida Cabacungan Andres and Carmen Raymundo Manuel Andres on May 15, 1952. She was the youngest of 3 sisters. After she graduated from Northeastern High School in 1969, she went to Marian School of Nursing in Manila for her Diploma in Nursing. Ring was Philippine board certified in 1974 and went on to the Philippine Women's University to obtain her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing in 1976.
After graduation, Ring worked at Manila Medical Center and also as a special nurse at Veteran’s Memorial Hospital in Quezon City. She then moved to Chicago with friends from the Philippines, where she worked as a nurse. In 1977, she met her future husband, Steve Proctor when visiting his parents, Reverend Alfred Proctor and Clarice Proctor. They were married in 1979 in Georgia and lived there for five years. Eventually, they decided to move to San Jose, California to be closer to her sister, Florida.
Ring was a devout believer in Jesus Christ and very active in the church. She wanted to learn to teach Sunday school to give the best to her students, and she decided to attend Lee University for a Bachelor of Science in Ministry Leadership - Youth Emphasis. She graduated with honors in 2019 and was very proud of accomplishing this program at the age of 67. After graduating, Ring taught the youth class on Fridays and preached once a month at the Miracle Church of God.
Along with ministry, she loved gardening - growing fruit trees, cacti, succulents, prickly pears, dragon fruit, and many more plants at "the Ranch." She loved to share all of what she grew with her friends and family across the country. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to her 3 grandchildren - Noah, Charlotte, and Oliver - and many extended friends and family she also considered grandchildren.
