Robert Lee (Leo) Rodgers III

Navy Veteran and entertainment executive, Robert (Leo) Rodgers III was born January 24, 1957 in the city of Memphis, Tennessee. Rodgers was raised in a close-knit family as one of seven children born to the proud parents of Ella Rodgers and Robert Lee Rodgers, Jr. (deceased).

Rodgers attended classes for the gifted at Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, Tennessee. After his graduation from high school, Rodgers proudly served in the United States Navy. After his military career, Rodgers entered the aerospace industry as a specialist in electrical engineering. It was during this time that he was led to enter the entertainment industry. Rodgers soon produced a hit Bay Area special, “Sounds by the Bay,” that received acclaim and honors.

As a music executive, Rodgers served as VP of Bungalo Records/Universal Music Group Distribution, holding that post for over 10 years.

Rodgers’ passion for education drove his educational journey. He attended De Anza College, Foothill College, Pierce College & San Jose State University to achieve his Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Rodgers secured his Master’s Degree in Business at the University of Phoenix, John Sperling School of Business, graduating with top honors.

A family man at heart, Rodgers truly loved the Lord and attended the Creekside Community Church in Brentwood, CA every Sunday.

Robert Leo Rodgers III transitioned on May 23, 2018 leaving behind a host of friends and family who cherished him dearly. He is preceded by his two sisters Brenda Rodgers and Anita Diane Murrell.

Rodgers is survived by his loving family including his dear mother Ella Rodgers, his loving wife Robin Rodgers, his beautiful daughters Naajia Rodgers and Tiffany Rodriguez, his cherished sisters, Crystal Rodgers Porter, Sylvia Robinson, and Pamela Toney, his brother Harold Leon Webster and his beloved grandchildren Alexandria Rodriguez, Faith Rodriguez, and Raymond Rodriguez Jr.
