Rodolfo Cabacar Gasmin was brought into this world by Benito and Apolonia Gasmin in Iba, Philippines on September 29, 1925. He grew up and spent his childhood there with his siblings. He attended school at Ngbayto High School in San Marcelino, Zambales. In 1950, he decided to serve in the United States Navy and become a U.S. citizen. On 1954, he married his wife, Eleanor Abidog Gasmin. They began their lives together, and were blessed with two children, Rodolfo Gasmin Jr. and Eddie Gasmin. During his service in the Navy, he lived in various places, including Guam.
In 1977, he was fortunate to bring his family to the United States and found San Jose, CA as their home. He remained working at the Moffett Field Naval Base as a restaurant worker. However from all of his professions, he most loved being a grandfather. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Myra, Jason, Monica, Eugene, Eric, Myles, and Eddilyn. He enjoyed watching them grow up and they brought him so much joy.
He finally retired and stayed at home with his wife as they lead a leisure life. He loved walking. He enjoyed cups of hot coffee while reading the newspaper, maintaining the yard, watching western movies, telling stories and keeping up with his grandchildren.
On October 19, 2011, after 86 years, he finally found rest and joined his parents and siblings in Our Lord’s Kingdom.
