Roger loves to share stories when he worked as a ship captain. Listening to him made me realize how responsible he was in making sure his crew and ship were safe. When GPS-based navigation was not yet around, Roger knew how to use whatever tools and guidance were available. For him, it was a rewarding part of his life and career. Something he trained for and put to good use. Roger, rest in peace and enjoy the eternal care by your Savior Jesus. You are loved and remembered well by all of us. Blessings of grace and peace to the family you leave behind.

I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Tito Roger's family.

My earliest memories of Tito were more of what my Grandfather and Grandmother would say about him. They were so proud of him, of what he accomplished, and at the same time wished that they could spend more time with him. There was also a time that I overheard one of his friends who came to visit telling stories of their adventures when they were growing up, how he'd get in trouble when they were in high school because Tito Roger was a really good looking lad.

I got to spend time with him after college and realized how kind and welcoming he was. I'd spend hours listening to him, his stories are either about his ship or how our hometown looked like when he was growing up.

Tito Roger lived an amazing life and made things happen for him. Thank you Tito! I will one day try the Hainanese Rice recipe you shared.

Thank you so much Capt. (as we fondly call him) for accepting me into your family. The Villanueva family Is so generous to opened their hearts and their home to many “ampons” ( The likes of family members, church members and friends) like me. From Capt. And Tita Edith down To their wonderful kids - Wowie, Demet and Chat, they will always welcome you with open arms and big smile.
I remember the time when I used to stay with them every weekend. Capt. Will be in the living room watching TV with his cup of coffee and would asked “Kumain k n b?” Or “Saan n nman ang lakad nyo ni Wowie?” He was always quiet but he cared so much. He will be missed. But I know that our Lord Jesus have fulfilled Capt’s purpose to everyone who shared his blessings, love and care.
