Rolando Santos Francisco was born on March 12, 1946 in San Antonio, Cavite, Philippines to Amado and Magdelena Francisco. His was the middle child of 5 children; 3 boys and 2 girls. He was mischievous as a boy – street smart, observant and wise but he was not a big fan of school.
Rolando managed to capitalize on a big opportunity to make a better life for himself and his family by joining the United States Navy in August 1967 at the age of 21. He proudly served in the US Navy for 22 years. He retired the Navy in 1989. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
After retiring from the US Navy, he spent the next 20 years proudly serving in the US Postal Service.
He met the love of his life, Virginia Habito, in New York City in 1968. In July 1969, he married his love, Jeanne. They had 2 children together, Joy and Erick. He was widowed in April 1992, he never remarried.
Roland was a disciplined, hard working, driven man. He was very methodical in nature; he liked order in his own way; he was also a very generous man and always helped others without expecting anything in return. He passionately loved to tell stories of his life’s journey to anyone who would listen. He was proud of his accomplishments, and rightly so as he had come a long way from his boyhood. He helped his family who remained in the Philippines up to the end.
Rolando is survived by his daughter, Joy, his son, Erick, and his 3 apos, Brandi, William and Jacob. He is also survived by his eldest brother, Eddie and his 2 sisters, Cora and Tessie and many nieces and nephews. We will all miss him greatly.
Rolando Santos Francisco went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2020. He is now reunited with the love of his life, Jeanne and all those who have gone home before him. May eternal light shine upon him and may he rest in eternal peace forever and ever.
