

Roldan was born in Candelaria, Zambales, Philippines. He had the opportunity to join the U.S. NAVY while in the Philippines and soon after, he met the love of his life, Amparo Edu, and have been happily married for 61 years. He retired from the U.S. NAVY after serving 20 years. During his NAVY life, the family had the chance to travel from the Philippines to Norfolk, Virginia, Pensacola, Florida, Alameda, CA, San Diego, CA and Fallon, Nevada. His second career was with Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Hayward, working in the Maintenance Department, where he served another 20 years. Together, they raised six beautiful children while residing in Newark, California.
In addition to spoiling his grandchildren with love, his other passion included cooking and gardening. His family always looked forward to his gourmet cooking especially for the Holidays. He proudly shared his crops with his children every summer; tomatoes, eggplants, garlic, onions, just to name a few.
He leaves behind a family legacy; his wife Amparo, six children and their spouses: Lila/Robert; Rey/Leona; Ben/Evelyn; Adam/Rowena; Janet/Ernie; Mary/Tom; 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren and one on the way, who adored him so much.
His death is preceded by all his siblings: Andres, Adriano, Juanita, and Honorio and his parents Inucencio and Suzana.
We love you Papa/Grandpa and you will be in hearts forever.
