Mi mamá a la edad de 82 años. 2007. La quiero mucho y la extraño. 

Matito, thank you for opening up to me about your life when I asked you to share your story with me. It meant a lot to me that you felt comfortable enough to tell me about some of the hardships you endured and I was grateful that I could give back to you in that way by just listening. I will never forget that. You will be greatly missed by so many who love you very deeply but the love you gave to us all, we will continue to live with in our hearts. Thank you for always making us laugh, for caring about us in your own way and for making us pastelitos even though you said you wouldn't anymore but did anyway (every time) just to make  us smile. I love you very much. Thank you.

Mamá, me hace mucha falta. Aunque Dios le concedió vivir 93 años, es como que uno no se resigna a perder a un ser querido, ya sea que haya vivido poco o mucho tiempo en esta tierra.  Lo que más admiré de usted es que trabajó duro cuando nosotros éramos niños, siempre se esmeraba en que luciéramos un nuevo vestido en Navidad o en otras ocasiones, aunque tuviera que coser y descoser un vestido, por fin lo lograba :)  Otra cosa que siempre admiré de usted fue que cuando quedó sola nunca quiso rehacer su vida, a pesar de que gozaba de juventud y belleza natural, sacrificó su juventud y todo por sobreprotegernos. La quiero mucho. Dios la tenga en su Santo Reino.

I was thankful to have had a kind & loving grandma in my life. Thank you for always caring for those around you. Your sense of humor, great cooking & wonderful baking will be missed. 
  You have left us too soon but, I know you’re in a better place. R.I.P.  my beautiful angel, Matito.
