Teresita, also lovingly known as Ng Bie was born on October 5, 1932 in Lagangilang, Abra, Philippines to the late Leocadio Aberion and Laureana Austudillo Aberion. She was a loving wife to the late Herminio Barbero Anquillano for 54 years, and a great sister to the late Pedro Astudillo Aberion. Teresita’s life is defined by grace, strength and a deep devotion to her family, her faith, and her teaching career in the Philippines. She spent her years between her two beloved homes, Dalaguisen Lagangilang, Abra, Phillippines, and Santa Clara, California, USA, building a legacy of love that touched many lives.
Teresita is a woman of quiet wisdom, compassion, and enduring faith. She was known for her warmest smile, her strong moral values, and her unwavering love for her family and community. Her days were filled with simple joys and meaningful routines; she loved cooking (she was well known for her shrimp lumpia and pecan tarts), gardening, playing word games, praying, and teaching others, whether it was life lessons, spiritual guidance, or everyday skills.
She is survived by her devoted children, Arnel Anquillano, Elda Atmosfera, Alden Anquillano, her daughter-in-laws, Marilou and Elizabeth, and son-in law, Rey. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Christian, Kaitlin, Corey, Jaden, Conner, Luke, Matthew, and Aaliyah, each of whom brought her immeasurable pride and joy. She was a great aunt and grand aunt to many, and a great mentor to young teachers and students.
As we mourn her passing, we also honor her extraordinary spirit, which continues to inspire and uplift us all. She leaves a legacy of kindness, patience, and wisdom that will live on in all who knew and loved her. She will be dearly missed and will always be our Mama Bie in our hearts.
Her life was a blessing; her memory a treasure. She has loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
