Terue, known to her friends and family as Terri or Teriko, was born on February 9, 1933, in Bepu Japan. She met Larry Hauschild at a mutual friend’s home, when he winked at her and she amusingly thought he had something stuck in his eye. It was not long before the two were married on August 14, 1956. They lived in Japan and various locations around the world before settling in their first and only home in Milpitas California in 1976.
Terue cherished the times she spent with her grandchildren and family. She loved to play bingo with friends, loved a good paying slot machine, cherry bells, winning lotto scratchers and enjoyed good Japanese food.
Terue is survived by her husband Larry, her three children, James, Terri and Thomas, and her grandchildren, James Jr., Jeremiah, Kiko, Baja, Addison, and Ethan, her brother Shegetada Matsuda and sisters Yoshiko Matsuda, Chieko Tomura, Emiko Shieda, and Toshea Matsui.
Terue’s life will be celebrated in a service at Lima Family Fremont Milpitas Mortuary on October 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with viewing on October 13th from 10:00a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and a private cremation on October 15th with final internment at Cedar Lawn Mortuary 48800 Warm Springs Boulevard, Fremont, California.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chandler Tripp Parent Faculty Group (CTPFG), at 780 Thornton Way, San Jose CA 95128, a nonprofit parent group helping to support special needs children. Condolences may be left in Terue’s online guestbook at www.Limafamilycedarlawn.com
She would always say “you are going to miss me when I’m gone” and she was right. She will be dearly missed.
