She was a doting, loving grandmother to Jorel and Jamie Valdez DeGuzman, Janalyn and Chad Noble, Shawn DeVera, Rachel DeVera, Jaeda Valdez, Makenzie Valdez, Austin Valdez, Jaden Valdez, Jazlynn Valdez, Julian Valdez, Jeremiah Valdez, and great grandmother of Avalyn Noble, Ella Jean Noble, Ivy Noble, Charlie Noble, Arya Wynter de Guzman, Kalel Wayne de Guzman, and Declan James de Guzman. She also loved Vickie DeGuzman and Dana Chan. As you can see, she loved her family immensely, as well as her numerous friends she has made throughout her years, at Signetics, in the neighborhood, at church, wherever she would travel!
Ursula was a brave fighter! With her husband, she traveled from her beloved homeland of the Philippines, to a foreign country, USA. With hard work and true determination as an electronic assembler at Signetics, she lived the American dream. All the while, she faced the immensely difficult challenges as a Navy wife, being father and mother when her husband was away for six long months at a time at sea. Many times, she felt the deep loneliness of missing the love of her life in this ‘long distance relationship’, but she managed to work and run a tight ship of a household of four children, all on her own.
As her health began to fail, she showed great strength and determination, diligently learning all she could to improve her health. The family is grateful to Dr. David Hyun and Dr. Toby Gottheiner for their wonderful tender care. Dr. Toby Gottheiner saved her when her kidneys were failing and helped her lead a healthy life, as Dr. David Hyun meticulously cared for her heart.
Ursula enjoyed life and loved God with all her heart alongside her God-fearing, Bible-Loving husband at Spring Valley Bible Church in Milpitas, where she met the delightful Pastor John Mills and his terrific family, as well as many welcoming, loving Christians. Anyone could see how she adored her late husband, always together when they could be, laughing, helping each other raise a family, and creating a heaven at home. Her husband cherished her and was always by her side.
She loved her children deeply. She would always say, “My children are my number one priority!” She devoted all her energy and love to raise and support her four children, through their education, careers, and into adulthood. As her children began their careers and families, she continued to support them in any way she could. She delighted in her grandchildren! They always brought her so much joy, as she showered them with kisses and gifts.
Her love for her family also reached her extended family in the Philippines. She worked tirelessly to sponsor her brothers and their families to successfully immigrate to the United States from the Philippines, so that they could also live the American dream.
She still found time to passionately immerse herself in sewing, gardening, and cooking. She loved to spend a lot of time and energy sewing beautiful dresses for her family and friends. On top of that, she definitely had an amazing green thumb. Her stunning backyard flourished with her magic touch, full of delicious, gigantic vegetables and fruit, while her breathtaking front yard overflowed with the vibrant colors of hundreds of beautiful flowers. What’s more, her delicious cooking was loved by all, especially by her childrens’ friends and her loving church family. Constantly, she was always trying to improve her already-scrumptious recipes to delight her friends and family! When she welcomed her family and friends over, laughter and delicious smells would always fill the air!
We will miss her wonderful smile and her loving nature. Our memories of Ursula will always live forever in our hearts. What better place to be than in heaven with the love of her life, in the arms of Jesus!!!
We would love you to join us for her Celebration of Life through Zoom. Please text one of her children for the Zoom Meeting information.
