

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Willis “Bill”, Owen, 98, in his home, surrounded by family on, January 6, 2023. He was born, August 29, 1924 to Noma Imogene Burgess and Richard Wallace Owen in Marmaduke, Arkansas, a small farming community where he was raised with six siblings.
A veteran of World War ll, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1943-1947. Awarded World War ll Victory Medal for service to his country. He married his sweetheart, Anna Jean (Fossey) Owen after leaving the Army Air Corps and moved to San Francisco, CA
He spent his employment years (50+) in Mechanical Design Engineering /Design Drafting. He continued his education, during those years at, Healds Engineering College and the University of California Extension in Mechanics and Strength of Materials, leading to a shared Patent for a Flow Control Valve used for irrigation equipment. Featured on the cover of, Western Industry, 1960.
He was blessed with a large and loving family: five children, five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and will always be cherished and remembered as a loving, caring, devoted family man. He was a quiet, private, witty man that was someone to admire, someone to be proud of and someone to brag about. Dependable and always there.
His surviving family: sister, Crysta Carey; children: Gloria Owen, Sheila (Bob)Black, Debra Guzman and James Owen; grandchildren: Monique(Charles)Lloyd, Patrick (Prelita) Owen, Charisse (Derek Hill) Guzman, Jason (Pippi) Guzman; Great Grandchildren: Anthony Guzman, Grace Saylor, Daniel Owen, Lillian Saylor, Charles Lloyd IV, Kylar Guzman, Vendela Lloyd, Mary Owen, Nikolas Guzman; great great grandchildren: Liam Aubrey Owen and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Anna Jean Owen, his parents Richard and Noma Owen, brothers: Ray and Abner. Sisters: Juanita, Helen and Sue; son: Larry Aubrey Owen; granddaughter: Angela Michele Saylor.
A visitation for Willis will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Lima Family Milpitas-Fremont Mortuary, 48800 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont, CA 94539. Following the visitation will be a committal service at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, 48800 Warm Springs Blvd, Fremont, CA 94539.
