With hearts full of love and unimaginable sorrow, the family of Chandler Joseph Wise announces his passing on October 17, 2025. Chandler was a bright light—funny, kind, and full of life. He had a gift for making people laugh, and his quick wit and one-liners could change the mood of an entire room. Chandler had a special way of connecting with people, whether through a joke, a conversation, or a simple smile. He left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.
Chandler was naturally gifted and endlessly curious. If something sparked his interest, he wanted to know everything about it. Whether it was technology, science, or something he’d just discovered online, he would dive deep, research every detail, and somehow retain it all. He loved to build things and figure out how they worked. He loved his clothes and had a real thing for designer brands—he always had to have the freshest shoes.
Of all the things Chandler loved, his dog Hardy held the biggest piece of his heart. Hardy wasn’t just his pet—he was his best friend, his shadow, and his comfort. Hardy followed him everywhere, and Chandler made sure he was always close, whether curled up next to him at night or riding along on one of his many adventures. The two were inseparable. Hardy gave Chandler unconditional love, and Chandler gave it right back tenfold. Their bond was something special—pure, and loyal. Their bond was unbreakable, and the love between them was pure and constant. Chandler also had a deep love for his tortoise, Leroy, who he cared for with incredible dedication. He spent hours researching how to create the perfect habitat, learning everything he could about diet, lighting, and care. He even built Leroy a home by hand—complete with all the details only Chandler would think of.
Above all else, Chandler loved his family fiercely. He shared a special bond with his sister Kaitlyn, who was not only his sibling but his closest friend. Chandler’s heart was big enough to love deeply and widely—he cherished his niece and godchild, Sophia. He also held a special place in his heart for his brother Herschel, whose memory he carried with love and admiration every single day.
Chandler is lovingly remembered by his parents, John and Kelly Wise; his sister, Kaitlyn; his niece, Sophia; nephew, Leo; sister-in-law, Gisella Cortez; his grandparents, Dave and Michele Wise, Debi and Mike Sellers, and Ronald and Paula Hoekstra; his aunts, Lori Moore, Lisa DeLuca (Frankie), Debra Velez (Eddie), and Kim Rispo (Gabe); his uncles, Joey Hoekstra (Kelly) and Kyle Davis (Christina); and his cousins, Hilary Jackson (Billy), Danielle Bordges, Corine McFerrin (Blake), Jordan Lopez (Nathan), Alyssa Ducker (Sean), Reece Velez, Sarah Hoekstra, Ashton Bordges, Maysen Davis, Christopher Hoekstra, JT Rispo, Baylee Jackson, Liam Ducker, Raegan Jackson, Jack Ducker, Carson McFerrin, Cora McFerrin, and Noah Lopez.
Chandler will be deeply missed by his entire family and the countless friends who were touched by his kind heart, quick wit, and vibrant spirit.
Chandler was loved beyond words, and his loss leaves a hole that can never be filled. His family’s hearts are broken as they face another unimaginable loss and try to find a way to move forward with only the love and memories he left behind.
Brothers in life and now in eternity, Chandler and Herschel are together again, surrounded by the same love that will forever bind our family’s hearts and watching over the family who loves them so deeply.
The family will hold a private service to honor Chandler’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to support them during this difficult time and to honor Chandler’s memory.
