Charles Leroy Young

He was born on June 10, 1944 in Logansport, Indiana to Lawrence and Margaret (Ferguson) Young.

Charlie graduated from Royal Center High School in 1962, and attended Purdue University.

He married Susan Regan on July 8, 1967 in Greentown, Indiana.

Charlie was a member of Fairview Missionary Church, Angola, Indiana.

He worked as a farmer and a mechanic. Charlie worked for Louisville Cement in Logansport, Lonsburys Garage in Angola, North Central Co-Op in Angola, driving for Dunham Motor Sales, and Carper Farm Supply in Ashley, Indiana.

Tractors, and gardening were his hobbies, his wife, family, and his dogs, were his greatest joy.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Young of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, children, Melinda (Michael) Misner of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, Michael (Becky) Young of Angola, Indiana, and Matthew Young (Jessica Jayne) of Jonesville, Michigan, grandchildren, Derreck Trowbridge, Amber Trowbridge, Jared Trowbridge, Leia Baird, Caleb Baird, Tyler Young, JoJo Young, Avery Young, MacKenzie Young, and Kassen Young, and a sister, Mara Jane (Dennis) Ashcraft of Logansport, Indiana.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Margaret Young, and grandchildren, Valerie Trowbridge, Wyatt Young, and Deon Trowbridge.

Visitation will be held from 2 pm until 4 pm Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Fairview Missionary Church, Angola, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Monday, September 18, 2023 at Fairview Missionary Church. Pastor’s Joel Greenwood and Sam Schertz will officiate the service.

There will be one hour of additional visitation on Monday from 10 am until 11 am at the church.

Burial will follow services at Hillside Cemetery, Pleasant Lake, Indiana.

Memorial donations in his memory may be directed to Riley Children’s Hospital, or to WBCL Radio.
