

Mr. Sherburne had retired as a supervisor at Dana-Weatherhead in Angola.
He was a 1965 graduate of Fremont High School.
Mr. Sherburne was a United State Marine Corps veteran, having served in the Vietnam War.
He was a 47-year member of the Fremont Cassel American Legion Post 257 and a member of the post's Military Honor Guard. He was also a member of the NRA, NMRA, Pokagon Long Rifles, Stone Trace Regulators and the Fremont Moose Lodge.
David enjoyed hunting, fishing, black powder rifles, scuba diving with his two dachshunds, Oscar and Quigley, and he was a cat lover.
He was born November 3, 1946, in Coldwater, Mich., to William Howard and Scharlette A. (Mingus) Sherburne. They preceded him in death.
Surviving are his four children, April Lee Sherburne of Gatesville, Texas, Amanda Jean Herring of Belton, Texas, David Matthew Sherburne of Belton, Texas, and Patrick Mark Sherburne of Temple, Texas; two brothers, Phillip Sherburne of Angola, Ind., and Thomas Sherburne of Fremont, Ind.; and 13 grandchildren, Breanna, Luke, Rebecca, Isaiah, Kylie, Tori, Corey, Grace, Hunter, Aiden, Owen, Matthew and Makayla.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Barry E. Sherburne.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.,m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont, Ind.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont with Chaplain Mike Collins officiating.
Private burial will be held.
