

Dennis was born on July 28, 1953, the son of James and Mavis (Warnock) Phillips.
He graduated from Plano High School, Plano Texas, and also from International Business College, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He served our Country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, and was assigned aboard the USS Alamo.
He formerly worked as a conductor for the Norfolk & Southern Railroad, and later retired in the maintenance Department from IPFW.
He enjoyed living at the lake, fishing with his friend Mike, riding in his golf cart, and watching NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys, and following sporting events. He loved going to his children’s activities when they were young.
Survivors include his wife, Chris Phillips of Coldwater Lake, Michigan, his children, Hayley Phillips (Sam Beard) of San Diego, California, Samantha Phillips (Loren Hill) of Tempe, Arizona, Trevor Phillips (Jennifer Izbicki) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Misty Pressley of Dallas, Texas, and his grandchildren, Morgan, McKenna, and Murphy, his mother, Mavis Phillips of Fort Wayne, Indiana, sisters, LeAnn (Jim) Boxell of Fairland, Indiana, and Lisa (Larry) Ladig of Indianapolis, Indiana, and a brother, Jimmy (Paula) Phillips of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Phillips, and a brother, Mark Phillips.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Brokaw Theatre, 200 N. Public Square, Angola, Indiana, with Rev. Jon Bruney officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by members of the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post # 257.
There will be a gathering of friends and family prior to the celebration, from 10 am until 10:30 am at the Brokaw Theatre on Saturday.
