

Douglas Newton Lopshire, age 63, of Lake James, Fremont, Indiana, and formerly of Fort Wayne passed away Friday April 17, 2015. Doug graduated from Indiana University and worked as an accountant before transitioning over to operations and eventually was involved in the engineering of many types of facilities; many with him as the lead project engineer. He recently retired and moved full time to Lake James to enjoy the view from his porch. Doug is survived by his wife McGee (Lohse), his sons Cory (Barb) and K.C., grandson Cole, mother, Mary Heemsoth, and brother Ron (Lorna). He was preceded in death by his father Frank Lopshire and stepfather Wayne Heemsoth. Doug was an Army veteran who served in Vietnam. He was dianosed with Parkinson's disease and faced the challenges with a positive attitude and strong drive, much like he did throughout all his life. He loved to fish, golf, fix things, and take pontoon rides with his family. Services will be held at the Orland American Legion Post 423, 6215 North State Road 327, Orland, Indiana, Monday April 20, 2015 at 11 am. There will be one hour of calling prior to the memorial service from 10 am until 11 am Monday. Memorials may be made to Parkinson's Research or the Orland American Legion Post, P.O. Box 448, Orland, Indiana 46776 in lieu of flowers.
