We were neighbors at Huyck Lake of Ernie and Elaine. We lived next door for all most 10 years. Ernie and Elaine were dear neighbors and we missed them when we moved away. They were friendly and so dear to us. I remember Elaine being a very good cook and Ernie had alot of good "advice" for us. A funny memory of Ernie was when he climbed a ladder to get onto his roof. The ladder fell down and Ernie was stranded up there until our son arrived for a visit and rescued him. We will never forget that. We wish to send our sincere sympathies to the family and send hugs to all of you.

I will always remember Ernie for his kindness and hospitality. I am thankful for letting us stay at his house almost every July. His sense of humor, delicious cooking, taking us fishing and making sure we were having a good stay at the lake are much appreciated. Thank you Ernie and Elaine for everything. We love you always.

Grandpa was always “In good shape for the shape he was in”! A kind-hearted, funny, hard-working and loving man, I’m only sad I didn’t spend more time with him and Grandma Elaine. Now they are reunited in Heaven and can watch over the many loved ones they’ve left behind.
Sending love and sympathies to all those who hold him dear in their hearts. A special note of gratitude to his daughter Sue Dunbar, who provided constant care and company to Grandpa in during his final days and years.

Ernie lived on Paulding Road for years, across the road from my Granndma, Freda Shaw. I wondered, for a second, if this was the "Ernie" my Grandma knew? When I got to the part of this obituary
that said he 'loved" fishing, I knew I had the right guy. He was always giving grandma fish! Thanks Ernie, for sharing your catch with my grandma and for being such a good neighbor to her.
