Glen Glen "Butch" Butch McDowell

Mr. McDowell was an owner/operator truck driver. He had worked for Dart Trucking, New Horizons Bakery and Coldwater Rendering.

He was a 1963 graduate of Elmhurst High School in Fort Wayne. He enjoyed antique tractors, horses, playing the guitar and mandolin, country & blue grass music, some of his favorites were Bill Monroe and Merle Haggard.

He was born May 23, 1945, in Beaver Dam, Ky., to William T. and Eudine M. (Wallace) McDowell. He married Sherry Ann Muench in Centreville, Mich. She survives in Fremont.

Also surviving are four sons, Bill and Lisa McDowell of Fort Wayne, Chuck and Misty McDowell of Fremont, Joe and Christal McDowell of Fremont and Bob and Mindy McDowell of Angola; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Jan and John Krinn of Fort Wayne; and two brothers, Joe and Pati McDowell of Woodburn and Kenny and Cassie McDowell of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Roxie Crittendon and Thelma Ruby.

Funeral services will be a 11 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2011 at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Fremont.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the funeral home.
