Glenna Mae Cole Beams

Glenna Mae Cole Beams, age 86, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on November 29th, 2023. She was born on October 12th, 1937 in Steuben County (Angola) Indiana to John and Lorene (Nisonger) Cole. Glenna grew up in Scott Center and Fremont, Indiana and graduated from Fremont High School in 1956. She married the love of her life, Howard “Jerry” Beams on September 1st, 1957. She was former co-owner of Beams Funeral Home in Fremont, Indiana. She loved spending time with family, music, doing counted cross stitch, and sewing. She was often seen racing around Lake George on her Jet Ski as recently as this past summer. She is survived by her husband, Howard Gerald Beams, daughter, Valerie and Ted Bookwalter of Fremont, Indiana and son, Michael and Kay Beams of Black Mountain, North Carolina, Grandchildren, Ashley Bookwalter and Bradley Hammons of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Jared and Natalie Beams of Greenville, South Carolina, Mitchell and Paige Herber of Orland, Indiana, Alexander Beams of Aiken, South Carolina, Keith and Arin Bookwalter of Broadway, North Carolina, Eric and Lisa Herber of Twinsburg, Ohio. Great-Grandchildren, Jack and Henry Herber of Orland, Indiana, daughter of the heart, Candiss and Patrick Bleser of Charlotte, North Carolina. Step grand-children Matthew and Nicole Herber, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Khristy and Jay Rollison of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Sister, Lois Waitkins of Toledo, Ohio and half-sister, Beth Cole Adang of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorene Cole and John Cole, daughter, Risa Jeanette Beams Herber and son, Gary L. Beams. Visitation will be on Sunday December 3rd from 1 – 2 pm with the funeral on December 3rd at 2 pm at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont, Indiana. Evangelist Scott Saltsman will officiate the service.
