Hanna R. Eakin

Hanna R. Eakin, 57, winged her way to heaven to meet her Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 3, 2018. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, Hanna was the youngest of six children born to the late Dr. John R. and Augusta M. Thompson. She was a graduate of Northrop High School and Ball State University. Hanna is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Tim Eakin, a daughter, Elizabeth, and a son, Alexander. Her passions were her faith, family, friends, pets, and flower gardening. She was also a lifelong advocate for the therapeutic benefits of massage therapy. After college she opened her massage therapy clinic “Hands on Health” in Fort Wayne. Later she became the first massage therapist hired at Parkview Hospital for their hospice department. She is also survived by her three brothers, Pete in Fremont, IN., Nate in Marshfield, WI., and Josef in Aschaffenberg, Germany, and two sisters, Karen Pequignot in Fort Wayne, and Ruth Thompson-Mouldner in Oshkosh, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial Celebration is 10:30 am Tuesday, Dec. 11th, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 4916 Trier Road, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior at the church. The mass will be followed by a luncheon in the Hession Center. Memorial donations in her memory are requested to Cancer Services of Allen County.
