Jack C. Trewartha

Jack lived a life defined by faith, family, hard work, and service to others. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, he touched countless lives through his kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and steadfast devotion to those he loved.

Born and raised on a farm in Revere, Minnesota, Jack learned the value of hard work at an early age. He carried that work ethic throughout his life, finding joy and purpose in both his work and his relationships. He enjoyed a long career as a livestock buyer, a profession he loved and continued until the age of 79.

Jack shared an extraordinary 71 years of marriage with the love of his life, Elaine. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and creating lasting memories. He loved camping, fishing, snowmobiling, traveling, and spending time at the lake with family and friends. Whether planning an adventure or simply gathering around a table with coffee, Jack made people feel welcome and valued. He loved people and never met a stranger. The friendships he built over the years meant the world to him.

He was known by many names throughout his life, including Joe and Cowboy Jack. No matter what you called him, you could count on a joke, a funny story, a song from years gone by, or words of encouragement. He was a faithful prayer partner to family and friends, offering strength, wisdom, and support during life's challenges. Jack believed deeply in helping others and never hesitated to lend a hand to someone in need.

A longtime member of the Masonic Lodge and Mt. Zion Methodist Church at Golden Lake, Minnesota, Jack dedicated much of his time to serving his church and community. One of his greatest passions was horses (lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association). He enjoyed caring for, raising, riding, and showing them. In retirement, he embraced traveling and lake life, creating even more treasured memories with those he loved.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Viola Trewartha; brothers, Donald (Goldie) Trewartha and William (Jean) Trewartha; sister, Vera Mae (Knute) Kasa; and brother-in-law Brian Krueger.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine Trewartha; his children, Jay (Lynda) Trewartha, Joleen (Dan) Boor, and Janell (Gilbert) Blochowitz; his grandchildren, Tiffany Crews, Gregory (Jessica) Boor, and Kimbley Boor (Jeremy Wyler); his great-grandchildren, Richard Senger, Calvin Senger, Piper Boor, Lear Boor, and Coral Wyler; his faithful pet companion Holly, affectionately known as "My Girl"; and many cherished granddogs.

Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 1 pm Monday, September 21, 2026 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. A Funeral Service will follow at 1 pm Monday, September 21, 2026 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 3365 South Golden Lake Road, Pleasant Lake, Indiana. Pastor Tamra Gerber will officiate the service.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers of CrossRoads Home Care for the compassion, comfort, and exceptional care they provided Jack and his family during his final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Jack's memory.

Jack's family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace with his Lord and Savior. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the many lives he touched through his faith, friendship, laughter, and love.
