

He was born on November 30, 1936 in Fremont, Indiana, the son of Oliver Wendell and Doris B. (Teeters) Day, they preceded him in death.
He graduated from Fremont High School in 1955. He later worked for the Indiana Toll road in construction, and also worked in Maine putting up telephone lines, and eventually was a union carpenter, and had his own business in construction and excavating.
He was a member of the NRA, Pheasants Forever, and the National Turkey Federation.
He enjoyed traveling, he loved wildlife, and the land, and all of his family very much, and his buddy, Jack, his dog.
He married Burdena R. Nichols on February 3, 1958 in Angola, Indiana, and she survives.
Survivors include his wife, Burdena R. Day of Fremont, Indiana, his children, Linda Fetter (Terry Nichols) of Angola, Indiana, Alan (Brenda) Day of Fremont, Indiana, Cheryl Robbins of Fremont, Indiana, and Susanne Sheckles of Fremont, Indiana, nine grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2-5 pm Monday, September 18, 2017 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.
Funeral Services will follow the visitation on Monday at 5 pm at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana, with Rev Jon Bruney officiating.
Memorials are requested to the National Turkey Federation.
