

He was born on December 20, 1941 in Angola, Indiana to the late, Ervin and Bernice (Leland) Sonner.
Jerry graduated from Fremont High School in 1960.
He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1963 until 1967, serving in Vietnam.
Jerry was a computer programmer for many years, working for International Harvester, Lincoln Life and Total Systems Services.
He enjoyed racing and later worked at the Steuben County Speedway. He also enjoyed camping, woodworking and playing mountain dulcimer.
Jerry was a member of the Angola Masonic Lodge # 236, for over 50 years, and served as Worshipful Master.
Jerry married Susan Florentine on June 12, 1965 in Angola, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Sonner of Angola, Indiana, two sons, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Sonner of Orland, Indiana and David (Jayelynn) Sonner of Angola, Indiana, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister, Sue Fraley of Middlebury, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by sisters, Lois Harter and Evelyn Sonner.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
