John (Doyle) Ross, husband, brother, uncle, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, 80, of Fremont, Indiana passed away Friday, July 21, 2023, peacefully at his home. To know John (Doyle) was to love him. He was a talented man; he could fix anything with his ingenuity and duct tape. He owned and operated his family business Ross Brother’s Appliance Service for over 60 years. His father started the business and was later joined by his brother Bernard and later his son Mike joined the business. He was a diehard Komet hockey fan since 1982 and enjoyed his Nascar. His hobbies were collecting Hot Wheels, antique lamps, and clocks, and collecting coins for many years. His favorite times were to spend time with his kids, grandkids, and any family member that showed up. He enjoyed going to the grandkids and great-grandkids' games to cheer them on. He built and flew remote control airplanes with his brother, Bernard for many years. He definitely knew how to make people laugh with his jokes that we heard many, many times over the years. He created so many great memories for all his family, whether it be, sledding in the winter, canoeing in the summer, playing board games, poker, chasing the ace, and always changing the rules that became “Ross Rules.”
Born January 13, 1943, to Jesse and Ruth (Caswell) Ross in Crissy, Ohio. He is proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers, Leonard Ross, his wife Margie and Bernard Ross, his wife Dorothy, his sister Sylvia (Ross) Fenton, her husband, Dick, and his brother-in-law Sam Gilbert. He was also proceeded in death by his nephews, Matt Ross and Steve Gilbert, and a niece, Suzanne (Burlew) Cooney.
