

He was born on August 18, 1930 in Bluffton, Indiana.
Jack proudly served in the United States Navy.
Mr. Scharlach was formerly of Bluffton, Indiana, he also lived in Fort Wayne, and later resided on the family farm near Fremont.
He was an electrician at BF Goodrich in Woodburn, Indiana and retired after 27 years.
Jack was known as a true gentleman, a family man and was quite a handyman. He enjoyed working on small engines, gardening, camping, fishing, boating, and loved to follow Purdue Basketball.
Jack married Juanita May on November 11, 1950 in Brandon, Mississippi, she preceded him in death on September 7, 2007.
Survivors include sons, Michael (Kim) Scharlach of Preston, Mississippi and Rodney (Patricia) Scharlach of Fort Wayne, Indiana, daughter-in-law, Diane Scharlach of Fort Wayne, Indiana, grandchildren, Dan Scharlach, Stacey Adams, Christopher Scharlach, Andrew Scharlach, Michael Scharlach, Samantha Scharlach, Nolan Scharlach, Amanda Miranda, and Bethann Stephenson, and twenty great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, and sons, Don Scharlach and David Scharlach.
Visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 noon Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.
Funeral Services will follow at 12 Noon Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana. Rev. Tim Terrell will officiate the service.
Burial will be at the Ray-Covenanter Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana, with Military Honors.
Memorial donations in his memory may be directed in care of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department.
