She was born at home, on January 5, 1937 in Fort Wayne Indiana to the late Levi Waikel & Pearl (Johnson-Coleman).
When Judy was 9 she told her mother that she was going to marry the 10 year old boy playing ball down the street. She did. On November 5, 1954 she married the love of her life, Billy Allen Regadanz. He preceded her in death on March 27, 2023. They moved to Snow Lake shortly after they were married. There was no indoor plumbing or bathroom. She promised once Bill put an indoor toilet in she would never ask for anything else. Well, she soon realized she would have to ask for a door.
She raised her family at Snow Lake and was about to move to a beautiful piece of Heaven in Angola after Bill retired. They spent their retirement years surrounded by the beauty of nature and the love of their family and friends.
Judy enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother, a great grandmother and a homemaker. Her family was her biggest joy. She was a member of the Nevada Mills Community Church. For several years she belonged to the Sigma Phi Gama Sorority. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies of the Moose along with being a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Working as a waitress for a short time at the Holiday Inn, Captain’s Cabin & the Elks. She had a gift of serving and taking care of others. Her heart was dedicated to taking care of aging people or those who were ill. She loved babies & children as she would babysit for her grandchildren & great grandchildren every chance she got. Best of all, the kids loved the stories & songs that she made up. Judy also loved the outdoors, animals, fishing, and mushroom hunting. She enjoyed playing cards with her family & friends. She enjoyed cooking and feeding people. Her cooking & baking will never be topped or forgotten. The smell of baked goods filled the house often. Waking up to the smell of roasting turkey on the holidays will always be remembered.
