Katerine “Kat” Shown, age 51, of Coldwater Lake, Coldwater, Michigan, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018, in Coldwater, Michigan. Kat was born on August 14, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois. She has lived in the Fremont area most of her life. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1986, she attended Trine University, and graduated from Indiana University, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and attended Rudae’s School of Beauty Culture, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Kat had a passion for painting and drawing, and caring for people, she also enjoyed baking, cooking, boating, watersports, riding her bike, and gardening. She formerly worked at Angola Wire, as a CNC programmer, and also had worked for Parkview Noble Hospital, P.J. Industries, Bob Evans, and Univertical. Survivors include her daughters, Gabi Shown and Hope Shown of Coldwater, Michigan, her companion of seven years, Scott Nofsinger, her grandchildren, Jaden DiGirolamo, Jared DiGirolamo, Haylee Terry, and Jordan Patton, daughter-in-law, Carmen Patton of Kendallville, Indiana, and her brothers and sisters, Robert Crubaugh of Chicago, Illinois, Rosemarie Crubaugh of Coldwater, Michigan, Donald Lewis Crubaugh of Angola, Indiana, and Edward Cleve Crubaugh of Norwalk, Ohio, and step-brothers and sisters, Edith Walker of Florida, Loretta Stephens of Angola, Indiana, Paula McElwain of Sturgis, Michigan, Donald Imse of Fremont, Indiana, Jackie Davis of Ravenna, Michigan, and Dewey Imse of Fremont, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Lewis Crubaugh, and Mary Kathleen (Olcott) Lytle, her step-father, Wilber Lytle, her step-mother, Betty Rathbun, her son, Cameron Patton, passed away on November 22, 2016, and sisters, Nancy Schort, and Betty Matlock, and Judy Brumbaugh. Following her wishes cremation will take place. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana, with Rev. Darin Hendrey officiating. There will be two hours of calling prior to the memorial service, from 11 am until 1 pm Saturday, at Beams Funeral Home. Immediately following the memorial service, a gathering will be held at 2 pm at the Coldwater Lake Association Building, 516 Warren Road, Coldwater, Michigan. Memorial donations in her memory are requested in care of the family.
