Margaret JoAnn Hamilton

She was born on April 5, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to Lester and Virginia (Picard) Albrecht.

JoAnn married Robert “Bob” Hamilton on November 6, 1948. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1997.

JoAnn spent her school days at St. Mary’s of Redford, Michigan. JoAnn also attended Ivy Tech and obtained an Accounting Degree. JoAnn retired from Dana Weatherhead in Angola, Indiana. She was also a member of the Fremont American Cassel Post # 257 Auxiliary.

JoAnn enjoyed living on Snow Lake, kayaking, crafting, cooking, quilting, and you could always find her in the yard weeding or tending to her beautiful flowers.

JoAnn is survived by her children, James (Elaine) Hamilton of Fremont, Indiana, Tom (Cathy) Hamilton of Angola, Indiana, Mike Hamilton of Fremont, Indiana, Rob (Tana) Hamilton of Fremont, Indiana, and Patricia (Bernard) White of Fort Wayne, Indiana, a daughter-in-law, Virginia Hamilton of Fremont, Indiana, nineteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Special acknowledgements go to Janet Conforto, Bruce Conforto, Claudia Lynch, and Mandy and Jody Pittenger.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Hamilton of 49 years, parents, Lester and Virginia Albretch, son, Timothy R. Hamilton, daughter-in-laws, Cindy Hamilton and Dyanne Hamilton, grand-daughters, Abigail JoAnn Hamilton and Jennifer JoAnn Hamilton, sisters, Joyce Smith, Janet Kondrath and Judith Campbell, and life long friend, Cindy Triplett.

Visitation will be held from 4 pm until 8 pm Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana. The Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 am until 11 am Friday, October 13, 2023 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Friday, October 13, 2023 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana. George Damron will officiate the service.

Burial will follow at Jamestown Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.

Memorial donations in her memory may be directed in care of the Fremont American Legion Cassel Post # 257 Auxiliary, P.O. Box 610, Fremont, Indiana 46737.
