Margaret Reese Lowry

She was born on October 17, 1932 in Youngstown, Ohio.

Margaret graduated from Mansfield, Ohio Senior High School in 1950 where she was on the synchronized swimming team.

She attended Virginia Intermont College where she earned an associate degree.

Margaret was employed in the banking industry in Mansfield and Columbus, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Authur Reese and Hazel Ott Reese, and her sisters Betty Garnes and Dona Oakes.

In 1960, she was married to James Rolf Lowry who survives in Muncie, Indiana and Clear Lake, Fremont, Indiana.

She is also survived by three awesome sons Stephen R (Susan) Yorktown, Indiana; James Jr. {Chip} (Katie) Alexandria, Virgina; David M, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and five grandchildren: Betsy Lowry-Tardy (Neal), Christopher Lowry, Henry Lowry (Nicole), John Lowry, Sarah Lowry.

Margaret was a member of the Clear Lake Yacht Club and was an Officer of the Clear Lake Association.

She was a board member of Visiting Nurses of Muncie, Indiana, and a member of the Clear Lake Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, Fremont, Indiana.

Margaret enjoyed the Ball State University wives and playing Bridge and tennis with her friends.

She loved all dogs and especially Bernie and Minnie.

Her love was spending the summers as Clear Lake, Indiana with her family, friends and the very beautiful sunsets.

She moved to Muncie in 1966, when her husband joined the College of Business at Ball State University. Since then she has enjoyed Ball State Athletics and cultural events. They raised their children in the Delta High School community. She drove thousands of miles around the county and the state taking her sons to sporting events.

She was a vocal Delta Wrestling Booster and never missed one of her sons’ or grandchildrens’ sporting events.

In her latter years she enjoyed her daily outings with her coffee friends at Sutton’s Deli in Angola, Indiana.

She was an ever cheerful, prayerful, and a positive person who became instant friends with everyone she met. Her smile and laughter were infectious.

Memorial visitation will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Meeks Mortuary Mt. Pleasant Chapel, 7901 W. Isanogel Road, Muncie, Indiana, 47304.

Additional visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 pm Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Clear Lake Lutheran Church, 270 Outer Drive Clear Lake, Fremont, Indiana.

Funeral Services will be held at the Clear Lake Lutheran Church at 12 pm Friday, October 6, 2023. Rev. Jeffrey Corder will officiate the service.

Burial will follow at the Clear Lake Lutheran Church Cemetery, Fremont, Indiana.
