

He was born to Dennis Stuckey and Herma Rupp who raised him in the rural Pettisville OH area. He accepted Christ as his personal savior in his youth becoming a member of the West Clinton Mennonite Church.
On June 15, 1947, he married Ilva Schrock in Midland, Michigan. They have six surviving children: Karen (Glen) Grieser, Hamilton IN; Sandra (Bill) Fordley, Fort Worth TX; Debra (John) Leininger, Fayette OH; Michael (Cheryl), Fremont IN; Randall (Sandra), Archbold OH; and Denise (Doug) Johnson, Fremont IN. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren, three step-sisters and their families: Lois (Melvin) Leidig, Canton OH; Ruth Nafziger, Archbold OH and Lavonne Bixler, Saginaw MI.
One son, Kenneth, died in infancy. Maurice had one brother, Kenneth, who died in infancy. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Dennis Stuckey, Herma (Rupp) Stuckey, and Step-mother, Mable (Klopfenstein, Gisel) Stuckey.
Most of his adult life he worked as an over-the-road truck driver and had the distinction of driving over 2 million miles without an accident. Following his retirement he assisted his son, Mike, at M&C Trenching and became a part of his new community in Fremont IN. He has been a faithful church member all his life and served as Sunday School Teacher for many of those years. His current membership is with the Fremont Community Church where he served as Elder.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2011, at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana, with Rev. Darold Beck and Dr. Greg Chupp officiating.
Visitation will be held from 2-7 p.m. Sunday, September 11, 2011, at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont.
Memorials are requested to the Fremont Community Church.
