Michael Raymond Depue

He was born on April 21, 1956 in Elkhart, Indiana to the late Raymond Dean and Willa Jean (Richardson) Depue.

Mike graduated from William A. Wirt High School in Gary, Indiana. He later graduated from the Technical-Vocational Career Center in Gary.

After graduation he worked for US Steel in Gary. He later moved to Angola, Indiana.

He married Kathy Schaeffer on July 22, 1978 in Fremont, Indiana.

Mike retired from LaGrange Products, Fremont, Indiana, and also had worked for Meridian Automotive, Angola, Indiana.

Mike enjoyed shooting sports, motorcycles, classic muscle cars and military history. He loved to joke around and loved his pets and nature. Mike's favorite pastime for the past two years was weight training at the Steuben County YMCA.

Due to the generosity of others, Mike was able to extend his life by many years through organ procurement.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Depue of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, sons, Clint (Carrie) Depue of Hudson, Indiana and Dan (Audra) Depue of Churubusco, Indiana, grandchildren, Aidan, Claire, Calvin and Caleb, a brother, Jr. (Kristie) Kittle of Valparaiso, Indiana, a sister, Corinna (Jeff) Hierholzer of Temperance, Michigan, sister-in-law, Pamela (Joe) Barger of Clarkston, Michigan, brother-in-law, Thomas Bevins of Fremont, Indiana and his pets, Coco and Sweet Pea.

He was also preceded in death by a step-father, Hayward Kittle, sister, Carol Jean Depue, brother, Johnny Kittle, mother and father-in-law, Wilma (Mounts) and Wendell Schaeffer, sister-in-law, Marcia Bevins.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 pm until 5 pm Sunday, November 2, 2025 at Glendarin Hills Golf Course, 3333 Glendarin Way, Angola, Indiana.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be directed to the Humane Shelter of Steuben County or to the Indiana Donor Network.
