

He was born on April 7, 1935 in Coldwater, Ohio to the late Bernard and Matilda (Wapplehorst) Kunk.
Norbert graduated from Coldwater High School in 1953.
He married Martha Jean Coates on February 6, 1956 in Portland, Indiana.
Norbert was a lifetime carpenter and retired from Wickes Lumber in Coldwater, Michigan, later he worked part-time at Menards in Angola, Indiana.
He enjoyed working, tinkering around the house and garage, fishing, taking pontoon rides, and spending his winters, in Florida. Norbert was raised as a Catholic and had attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Angola, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Kunk of Coldwater, Michigan, children, Leonard (Rose Crubaugh) Kunk of Coldwater, Michigan, Joseph (Baoxiang Li “Annie”) of Lansing, Michigan, Larry Kunk of Addison, Michigan, and Leslie (Bill) Krantz of Jackson, Michigan, grandchildren, Zachary Thornton, Kaylee (Ben) Dilley, Monica Kunk, Abigail Kunk, Ben Kunk, Marissa Krantz, Sarah Krantz, and Bozhou Chen “Eddie”, brother, David (Jane) Kunk of Celina, Ohio, and Doris (Keith) Byer of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Zoe Kunk, a brother, LaVern Kunk, and sisters, Lucille Post and Eileen Baumer.
Graveside Services will be held at 11 am Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Knauss Cemetery, Kinderhook, Michigan. Chaplain Kris McPherson will officiate the service.
Memorial donations in his memory may be given to Heartland Hospice, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
