
Mr. Exelby was born to Neal and Lena (Kazmerski) Exelby on December 26, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan.
He was raised in Quincy, Michigan, and graduated from Quincy High School in 1957. After high school, he served a four-year term with the U.S. Navy on aircraft carrier USS Intrepid. Norm worked at Gambles Skogmo Warehouse in Coldwater for 24 years and then at Amcast in Fremont, Indiana for 16 years until his retirement.
Norm attended Fairview Missionary Church in Angola, Indiana. He had a deep love of his family along with the outdoors and dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra (Gottschalk) Exelby; one son, Michael (Malisia) Exelby of Coldwater; two daughters, Marianne (Gary) Fraley of Coldwater and Melissa (Jason) Gryder of Angola; three grandchildren, Matthew Exelby of Coldwater and Jaxon and Brody Gryder of Angola; two brothers, Robert (Elizabeth) Exelby of Lapeer, Michigan, and Lavern (Judy) Exelby of Wetmore Michigan; one sister, Faith (Daniel) Aguilera of Redondo Beach California; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Kathlene Beougher; and his brother-in-law, George Beougher.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, from 5-8 p.m. at Fairview Missionary Church.
A service will be held on Monday, November 3, at 11 a.m. at Fairview Missionary Church with Pastor Norm Fuller and Mr. Exelby’s nephew, the Rev. Tim Exelby, and the Rev. Lynn Eicher officiating.
Burial will be at Knauss Cemetery in Kinderhook immediately following the service.
