Randy D. Shaffer, 75 of Orland, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 20, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Randy was a 1967 graduate of Prairie Heights High School. He had served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971 and was a member of the Orland American Legion post #423. Randy loved to mushroom hunt and canoe.
Randy was born on September 10, 1948, in Goshen, Indiana a son of the late Alvin R. and Beverly A. (Stoldt) Shaffer.
Survivors include two sons: David "Chris" (Melissa) Kelly of Colorado Springs Colorado and Joshua (Heidi) Shaffer of Orland; a sister: Michelle (David) Gravit of Hudson; five grandchildren: Caleb Kelly, Olivia Kelly, Caleb Shaffer, Reed Shaffer, Jaycee Shaffer.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Gary A. Shaffer
A Celebration of Life Services will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Greenlawn Cemetery, Orland, Indiana with Pastor Stephen Altman officiating.
Interment will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery in Orland with Army Honor Team and Orland American Legion Color Guard Post # 423.
