Robert Peter Sanders November 20, 1936 - March 23, 2021

On March 23, 2021, Bob Sanders of Camden, Michigan (formerly of Toledo, Ohio), stepped into the arms of Jesus and was reunited with Barbara, his bride of 62 years. Also attending the Heavenly reunion were his parents Peter Samuel Sanders and Gladys K. Bunde Sanders, son-in-law John Hutchinson, nephew Ronald Sanders, Jr., numerous family members, and countless friends. His family was priveleged to surround him with their love and support until the reunion began.

Bob was a skilled tool and die maker having retired from Hillsdale Tool. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, woodworking, hanging out at the Pioneer Scout Reservation, and endlessly joking and story telling. There is no doubt that he is thrilled to have a new audience for his stories!

Those left to cherish his memory include his brother, Ronald (Connie) Sanders of Lambertville, Michigan, daughter Marianne Hutchinson of Fremont, Indiana, daughter Robin (Steve) Cherkas of Candler, North Carolina, son Mark (Stephanie) of Warren, Michigan, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and the most loving extended family and friends that a man could ever be blessed to have.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Country Living of Hillsdale, Michigan for providing exemplary care to Bob as well as his family and friends, and to Elara Caring who provided comfort to Bob and his family.

Following his wishes there will be no services.

Burial will take place at Maplewood Cemetery, Toledo, Ohio.

Memorial donations in his memory may be directed to Country Living, Hillsdale, Michigan.

I was a college roomate of Robert Sanders' daughter, Robin, for a couple of years in the early 80s. Robin and I have maintained our 40 year friendship since then. Sadly, I never met her father, but we shared and undying love for our Dads, and I had the feeling that I knew him based on the many conversations we have had. Despite never meeting him, I know he was a good Dad. Robin is a lifelong friend, and I know those qualities came from him. May all of you be blessed by his memory and wonderful stories. The Albert family is so sorry for your loss.

Dear Marianne, Robin and Mark,
I have been praying for your father for a long time and now he is good again. I will keep praying for you as you remember your
dad in these next weeks of finishing up the necessary things.

I have enjoyed talking to him on t he phone over the last few years and it was good to see both of your parents in 2012 when Linda I made a trek to see family.

My condolences to family and friends, it seems like I know most of you, Bob talked very highly of everyone.
Bob and I met at the Camden diner where he sold picture frames and wooden toys.
We made sure to sit together and exchange jokes and stories.
We soon became unbelievable friends, spending time together every weekend, for chats, a coke, and a cookout once in a while.
Bob would give the shirt off of his back, was ready to jump in when anyone needed help.
He was a very talented mechanically, being a great tool and die man, and woodworker.
He donated many toys during the holidays during the gift drives for needy children.
Gosh darn it, I am gonna miss you buddy, but I know we will meet again and share an icy cold coke and some funny stories!

My heart and prayers go out to the family. Bob was a very warm and friendly individual. I never heard him speak a cross word about anyone. There was just something about his voice. He had a way to lift your spirits even when he was in his last months on earth and not feeling very well.
I love you Uncle Bob. I look forward to seeing you and Aunt Barb again.
A BIG group hug to Marianne, Robin and Mark
