Ronald August Shoemaker Sr.

He was born on January 13, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio to Merle and Frances (Kujawski) Shoemaker.

Ronald married Shirley Marie Cain on December 22, 1956, she preceded him in death on January 1, 2013.

In his younger years he worked in landscaping, and later worked in several factories. He eventually went to work for General Motors in Toledo, Ohio in 1973, and retired in 2000.

Also in his younger years he liked to paint cars, going fishing, and woodworking. He was very outgoing, and never met a stranger.

He is survived by three children, Jackie (Nathaniel) Slabach of Goshen Indiana, Ronald August (Brenda) Shoemaker, Jr. of Delta, Ohio, Edward (Brenda) Shoemaker of Orland, Indiana, grandchildren, Angel Lepley of LaGrange, Indiana, Terry Bailey, Jr. of Butler, Indiana, Ronald A. (April) Shoemaker, III of Swanton, Ohio, Christopher L. Shoemaker of Delta, Ohio, Jacob Shoemaker of Montgomery, Michigan, and Jessica Shoemaker of Alabama, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, his twin brother, Richard Shoemaker, of Holland, Ohio, and sisters, Betty Jo Helminiak of Toledo, Ohio, Patricia Raber of Wauseon, Ohio, Judy Brushaber of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Frances Shoemaker, his wife, Shirley Marie Shoemaker, and a son, Donald Earl Shoemaker, a sister, Carol Miller, and a son-In-Law, Terry Bailey, Sr..

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Township Hall, 7617 Angola Road, Holland, Ohio 43528.
